Cita previa NIE Torrevieja: booking, choosing, checking
A cita previa, the appointment booked in advance, is made free of charge on one government website for the NIE, the green certificate or the TIE card, with Alicante as the province. The office depends on the procedure, so the slip may say Torrevieja, Orihuela or Alicante: read the town before you accept.
Request helpBefore you open the website
- Know your form: EX-15 when you want the number alone, EX-18 to register as a European, EX-17 or EX-19 when a card is the goal
- Have your passport at hand, or your NIE if you already hold one
- Write your name exactly as it appears in the passport
- Decide which towns you can reach: Torrevieja, Orihuela, Alicante, or further
- Keep an email address ready for the slip
Through the booking pages
The booking pages live on sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es. Start by choosing Alicante among the provinces. Next comes the trámite, the procedure, that matches your form. Depending on the procedure, you pick an office yourself or are shown those with free dates. Fill in your details, take a date and confirm.
The names of the trámites are in Spanish and change from time to time. Read each line to the end before you click: a NIE on its own, the green certificate for EU citizens and the toma de huellas for a card are three different procedures.
Torrevieja, Orihuela or Alicante?
Each office deals only with what it lists. On policia.es, the comisaría (police station) in Torrevieja lists residence for EU and non-EU citizens; Orihuela lists that and NIE assignment; the Brigada in Alicante lists the NIE and certificates. The offices on screen are the ones the system holds for your procedure, but the town can still surprise you.
A date in Alicante means a longer journey than one in Orihuela. Weigh the trip, and the time of day, before you accept.
Reading the slip
What comes back, often called the justificante, gives the address of the office, the day, the hour, the procedure and a reference code. Save it as a PDF or print it, and keep it with the receipt of the Modelo 790 código 012. When you wonder where you are expected, this is the paper that answers.
No opening hours appear on policia.es for the Torrevieja or the Orihuela station, so the hour on the slip is the only one that matters. Be there a little before it.
When the calendar shows nothing
Some weeks no date appears at all. New ones come without notice and are taken fast. A complete folder lets you accept a near date with confidence, and being open about the town helps too. This is the part we do with you: we watch for a date while your papers wait, ready.
Questions
Is there a charge for the appointment?
No. Booking costs nothing; the State fee for the procedure itself is paid separately, on the 790-012, before the day.
Can a relative book for me?
Yes, the booking is an online form that anyone can fill in with your details. The appointment itself is in your name, and you attend with your own passport.
I booked the wrong trámite. Can I fix it?
Yes: cancel on the same website with the reference code, then book the right one. A slot for a different procedure is unlikely to be any use on the day.
Will my appointment be in Torrevieja?
Not necessarily. The whole province of Alicante shares one system, and the office depends on your procedure and on which dates are free. The slip names it.
